This project with a major federal government agency captivated me right away. The opioid crisis is a wide-reaching public health issue that cuts across socioeconomic and cultural lines. In this course, the aim was to instill a sense of urgency in learners and empower them with the information they need to offer much-needed support to individuals in crisis. In this trauma-informed, person-centered course, the very real struggles of other human beings were shared with compassion and hope.
